Island Pure Sheep Dairy

Island Pure Sheep Dairy is a 260 hectare grazing property on the banks of the beautiful Cygnet River and Gum Creek on Kangaroo Island. The property is situated approximately 10 minutes from Kingscote, the main commercial centre on the Island, and a few minutes from the Island’s airport

Visit ewes, rams and little lambs.  You can catch a glimpse of life at Island Pure Sheep Dairy when you meet our girls, learn about yoghurt and cheese production and taste some of our world class cheeses and yoghurts made from 100% ewe milk. Straight from us to ewe!

Island Pure’s flock has been built over the last 20 years from a mixture of breeds based on their milking ability and temperament. With no recognised milking breed in Australia, the flock has strong influences from Awassi and East Friesian sheep, together with Border Leicester, Merino, Suffolk,  Poll Dorset and Dorper. The flock is currently about 1200 ewes and we milk approximately 300 to 400 sheep a day.

While on Kangaroo Island you can source our produce right where it’s made. The Island Pure shop stocks our finest cheeses and yoghurts.  Our range includes:
